How a Lipstick is Making a Difference in the HIV/AIDS Fight

Last December 1, I was at an intimate luncheon at Admiral Hotel, surrounded by some amazing people, all united for a cause. The conversation turned to some pretty eye-opening stats from the Philippines – did you know there are over 1,100 confirmed HIV-positive individuals as of June 2023? And that's not all. During the pandemic, HIV testing and treatment saw a significant drop. It's a stark reminder that this fight is far from over.

What is M·A·C's role in all this? For World AIDS Day, they're doing something incredible with their VIVA GLAM lipsticks. It's not just about beauty – it's about making a difference. Every purchase of these lipsticks means 100% of the proceeds go to charities aiding those affected by HIV/AIDS. It's beauty with a purpose, and I'm here for it. Did you know M·A·C started VIVA GLAM way back in 1994? It's not just a campaign; it's a legacy. They've raised over $520 million USD since then. That's the power of community and commitment.

I was particularly moved hearing about the Positive Action Foundation Philippines Incorporated (PAFPI). They're doing some amazing work to support and empower those living with HIV/AIDS. It's about giving hope and helping people lead happy, productive lives, which is so important.

And it's not just about donations. M·A·C, along with artists and influencers like EJ Nacion, Mela Habijan, Teree Daisuke, Daniella Roi and Jorence de Limos, visited the H4 Ward of San Lazaro Hospital. It was a gesture that went beyond just giving – it was about showing up, physically and emotionally, for those in need. These efforts in raising awareness and breaking down the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS are crucial.

This World AIDS Day, it's about doing our part, however small it may seem. Buying a VIVA GLAM lipstick isn't just a beauty purchase – it's a stand against HIV/AIDS. It's a reminder that together, we can make a difference. Next time you're near a M·A·C store, maybe pick up a VIVA GLAM lipstick. It's a small gesture that can be part of a bigger change. Here's to beauty, hope, and making a difference, one lipstick at a time! 💄❤️
