Behind the Ribbon: Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness Advocacy in Focus

October has rolled around once again, bringing with it a wash of pink and powerful messages. ๐ŸŽ€ This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every corner of the globe witnesses lots of initiatives aiming to spread knowledge, foster support, and advocate for early detection. Among these efforts, Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) consistently stands out. They've not only been champions on the global front but have also been diligently ensuring their campaigns resonate profoundly within the Philippines as well.

Throwing It Back To The Pink Origin

Way back when, talking openly about breast cancer was, well, taboo. But Evelyn H. Lauder wasnโ€™t having any of it. In 1992, she teamed up with the Estee Lauder brand to co-create that iconic pink ribbon we all know and love. Their mission? To boldly dream of a world without breast cancer. Fast forward to today, and the Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Campaign is still going strong, championing research, education, and medical services globally.

A Pinch (or a whole lot) of Pink in the Philippines

While ELCโ€™s pink power spans continents, they've been particularly active in our country. From offering free mammograms to donating essential medical equipment, they're ensuring that underprivileged Filipinas get the support they deserve. And this year? Oh, theyโ€™re leveling up!

The Pink Month Kick-Off Last October 6

In collaboration with SM Cares, ELC pulled out all the stops with a press event hosted by the always glamorous Issa Litton that was equal parts glam and informative. There were advocates, medical mavens, and free clinical breast exams by specialists from St. Lukeโ€™s Medical Center. And for a visual treat - major landmarks like SM Mall of Asia Globe and Megaworld Uptown Bonifacio have gone all out in pink, spreading the campaign's message loud and clear.

Honored Guests: ELC Philippines Country Manager Wong Sharyn, content creator Cat Arambulo, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan

Look Good, Feel Good Activity Last October 7

ELC teamed up with iCanServe and Kasuso Foundation for a day of wellness and pampering designed specifically for breast cancer warriors. Hosted at SM Megamall Fashion Hall, survivors were treated to makeup sessions by ELC's top-notch volunteers. Talk about painting the town pink (literally)!

Knowledge is Power: The Breast Cancer Campaign Education Roadshow

Knowledge is your best armor against breast cancer, and ELC gets it. Throughout October, they're organizing educational talks focusing on prevention and early detection, not just for their employees, but for their business partners too.

So there you have it, the pinkprint for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2023. It's inspiring to see companies like ELC show up with genuine commitment and localized strategies. Remember, ladies, early detection can save lives. So while you're flaunting your pink ribbon, take a moment to educate yourself and others. Stay fierce and informed!
