Majolica Majorca launch at Opus, Resorts World
I try not to go to too many events lately because I do have work and I want to spend my free time just relaxing. But when Majolica Majorca calls, you know it, I'm there! It's one of my favorite makeup brands right now (if you haven't noticed yet, hehe) so I wanted to show my support.
The event happened last Wednesday at Opus, Resorts World. The set up was quite enchanting, as if the guests stepped inside another world. Take note, it was 3pm in the middle of a work week! The Majo team really transformed the space - it was quite an achievement ha. I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.
An installation by Tina Daniac is the first thing we saw upon entering

FOTD + OOTD: Sugar trap
Last Wednesday, Japanese cosmetics brand Majolica Majolica officially launched here. They also introduced the latest collection called Fake Sleeping, a two-product affair that is quite unique if you ask me. Will talk more about these in a bit! In the meantime, I'd just like to share what I wore to the event.
Thrifted peach dress and printed cardigan/ SM lace up heels/ Ferretti satchel/ Parfois gold leaf necklace
It was kind of difficult to dress up for this particular shindig because (1) It was held in Opus, a night club in Resorts World and (2) It was 3pm on a Wednesday! Should one wear a clubbing dress? A breezy tea dress? Night makeup? Day makeup? Lol. I just went along with my mood and the weather that day (which is super hot btw). In any case, the dress code is supposed to be playful, fun, and whimsical.
For the FOTD, there was no question: I used my fave Majolica Majorca makeup!

Majolica Majorca Cream Pencil Eyeliner
If you haven't noticed by now, I am a fan of Majolica Majorca. I'm impressed by the quality of their products, especially by the fact that they come in affordable prices. The Majolica Majorca Cream Pencil Eyeliner (P595) is not an exception - it's a smudge-proof and water-proof eyeliner, perfect for our humid weather.
What I love about the product
- Doesn't budge even when worn all day. It's smudge-proof and more or less water-proof.
- Pigmented, it goes on a matte black in one swipe.
Swatches of the latest Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes palettes
Majolica Majorca released two new Jeweling Eyes Palettes (P795) in their Sugary Trap Collection - one in bronzy browns and another in candy pinks! So pretty, I tell you. I've been using Caramelisee (BR631) pretty regularly since it's so flattering on the eyes. Sugar Cookie (PK330) is cute, but I have yet to find an occasion to wear it. I promise I'll take a snap when I do!
Both palettes have warm colors that can work with our tan Asian skin. I like that they show up well even without a base, plus the sponge applicator is actually useful.
Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek
Every girl should have a matte blush. It's the best kind to use when you're having your photos taken or if your skin is oily! Used the right way, matte blushes can look more natural than shimmery ones since your skin's natural oils somehow enhance them.
One of the prettiest matte blushes I've come across is the Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek (P795). These blushes are housed in a tin can that's shaped like a sweet macaron, with the same colors to boot. Aside from the packaging, the biggest strength of these Puff de Cheeks are their lovely, flattering shades. Even though Majo is a Japanese brand, it seems like the Sugary Trap Collection is made for warm skin tones like ours.
What I love about the product
- All four shades look good on me. My favorite has to be Apricot Macaron (OR302), followed by Peach Macaron (PK301). I don't have these shades in my blush collection so I find them unique.
- The powder is well-milled, with a velvety texture. It has a smooth, matte finish that don't sit on the pores.
Warm: FOTD + OOTD
Have you been under the sun lately? IT'S CRAZY. I'm trying to remember if it has ever been this hot before, but I can't recall anything in particular. Wearing sunblock, shades, or an umbrella is no help at all because the heat burns as long as you're outside. I just try not to go out at all.
But sadly that's not an option. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Last Saturday, I went out to host Project Vanity's second Clinique Party after holing up in the condo all Friday working. Needless to say, the Clinique Party was a blast! A lot of girls turned up and they seemed happy with their au naturel makeovers. Hay, I have to say, I really enjoy what I do.
Anyhoo, here's what I wore that day:
I used a bunch of new products in this look, mostly from Majolica Majorca's newest collection called Sugary Trap.
Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex Lip Gloss
Yes, yes, I know, Majolica Majorca again! Can't help it! I have a bunch of Majo stuff I still need to review. I like the products from the brand so I end up talking about them anyway.
This time, I'll be reviewing the Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex lip gloss (P495).
What I love about the product
- Non-sticky. Doesn't feel tacky on the lips.
- Moisturizing. I don't even have to use lip balm underneath!
- Great lasting power for a lip gloss. Eating doesn't take it off, a feat not many lipglosses can achieve.
Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes palette
The Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes palette (P795) has pretty much the same quality as the Trick-On Powder Eyeshadow palette, so I won't review it in detail anymore. It does have one discerning quality from the latter, though: it has more of a sheer, iridescent effect. It's not quite shimmer or glitter. I would describe it as something with a very fine sheen.
Packaging is slightly different as well, with the Jewelling Eyes palette having embedded beads on the side and sporting a jeweled print cover design.
Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner
I've ranted before that I don't like liquid eyeliners. I found their built-in applicators difficult to use - they're either too thin, too stiff, too awkward to maneuver around the contours of the eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love the precise effect and lasting power of liquid liners, but the applicator is usually the deal breaker for me.
And then I met the Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner (P695).
I am in love with the brush of this automatic pen. It's made of synthetic hair that's actually close to the quality of a professional makeup brush. It's soft and delivers a perfect line with no fuss. It does take a bit of practice,so you have to try it for a couple of times to get a feel for it.
I like the brush so much that I plan to use it for my gel eyeliners when I run out of the Majo liner! :D Anyway, it's time to talk about the formula.
What I love about the product
- Stays on all day with zero smudging
Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder eyeshadow
The Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder eyeshadow (P795) is easily one of the best drugstore brand palettes I've tried to date. The quality is at par with the high-end eyeshadows I have in terms of pigmentation, texture, and staying power. P800 might seem steep, but for me it's already a bargain considering that, say, MAC and Shu Uemura palettes are P2,500!
I've read a lot of raves about the Majo palettes, but I thought that while it's good, it's still a reduced-quality Shiseido product. I haven't tried it then. Thank goodness I was wrong.
What I love about the product
- Smooth, silky texture. Not gritty or powdery at all since it's finely milled.
- Highly pigmented, even without a base.
- Good staying power even with no primer. I would still suggest using a primer though because it will crease a bit without it.
A gift from Majolica Majorca
Remember my post last February? Majolica Majorca is now available in the Philippines! You can already find it in SM Makati's Beauty By SM area. There was supposed to be a big launch at Opus yesterday, but due to the unforeseen disasters in Japan, it was only right that the event was moved as a sign of respect and mourning for the country's losses.
Moving on, I was so delighted when I received a gift from Majolica Majorca last Sunday. It was hanging by the door knob when I got home from my vacation - cute, but thank goodness it wasn't stolen! Haha. Here's what I got:
Such great heights: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Mascara
Another item I got from the We Have It 43 store is this well-raved mascara called the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander (P750). Majolica Majorca is a Japanese brand, a low-end line of Shiseido (the way Kate is the drugstore line of Kanebo). I've been reading about this mascara for years, but since Majolica Majorca isn't available in the Philippines, I can only wonder! Good thing the We Have It 43 store, well, has it.
I find this mascara deserving of all the rave reviews - it does bring my pudgy lashes to such great heights, never before known! Check out the Makeupalley rating at 4.3/5. It has one major caveat for me, however: it's extremely difficult to remove.
What I love about the product
- Majorly lengthens and volumizes lashes with only one coat. Two coats and you'll look like you're wearing falsies. It's because the formula has these tiny fiber hairs that helps thicken and bridge your natural lash hairs.
- Zero smudging. It's also waterproof, tear-proof, and sweat-proof.
