For the glam girl: Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday

I've met many glamorous women in my years of working in this industry. Do you know what they have in common? They've found that one look that they own and they stick to it. They don't necessarily follow all the hottest trends or have the coolest new things - they just know who they are and they are consistent in presenting that. Beyond how beautiful they are, it's their confidence that draws people to admire them.

Perhaps the best example of glamour is Marilyn Monroe, who earlier this year has just been named as the newest endorser of Max Factor. Imagine being dead for 53 years and landing such a huge gig! She is such an amazingly beautiful woman. Her magnetic presence on screen will  linger in the hearts and minds of generations to come.

Aside from introducing a "new" face, Max Factor also released a capsule collection with a Marilyn-worthy shade, the Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday (P595). It's a gorgeous, classic red with a satiny finish! It's opaque in one good swipe and doesn't feel drying. It kinda bleeds since the color is so intense but I just make sure to blot the first layer out first before applying the final layer.

The gold packaging is fabulous no? Here's a fairly accurate lip swatch! Ruby Tuesday should match most skin colors as it is a basic red with a bit of a blue undertone.

I love how it brightens my skin and how the finish doesn't look flat and dull. Matte is nice, but sometimes boring IMO.

I am also wearing the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Volume and Curl Mascara (P595) here. It gives natural lashes that won't smudge after a full day out, and can be easily wiped off with just micellar water makeup remover. It's not very dramatic though; it really is something more handy for an everyday look.

So there you have it. Check out the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday if you're looking for an affordable retro red. ^_^
