NOTD: Girlstuff Nail Lacquer in Marilyn
When my friend Nikki of Askmewhats.com asked if I wanted to try Girlstuff nail polishes, I said, "Isn't that for little girls?" I remember seeing a kiosk in SM Mall of Asia with lots of cute things obviously targeted for a very young market. Frankly, I wasn't sure if it's something I could take seriously considering the impression I've had of it since forever.
But Nikki said, "No, I promise that the quality is very good! I've been using it for years and it has never stained my nails, and it dries really fast. It's also free from harmful chemicals and toxins (i.e. 5-free)." She asked if she could send a set and I thought, why not! If Nikki loves it, then there's definitely something to it!
Nikki was right! With a recent rebrand, Girlstuff is now more exciting than ever. There are so many trendy colors available, all designed and made in France. The classy bottles are also made in France. The colors are opaque in two layers, dries in 15-20 minutes, doesn't have a strong smell (hate that), and doesn't stain my nails. Guess what - a bottle is just P100! Such a steal. It can compete with big name, expensive brands that you can find in Rustan's.
I have so many nice colors with me as well as the new summer collection but today I want to focus on this lovely burgundy creme called Marilyn. It instantly stood out to me when I saw it at the Girlstuff event the other day. I mean look at it. If I didn't know, I could have mistaken it for a coveted Chanel polish or something similar. It's so sophisticated!
The staying power is okay at two days before it starts to chip. I don't mind so much though since I value good colors + fast-drying features more.
I'm happy that yet another Filipino company is coming out with amazing new products. Try Girlstuff soon, I promise you won't be disappointed. ^_^
