Trying Out A Fan Fave: The Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk SPF50+ (2022 Version)
Japan's No.1 sunscreen brand Anessa just got an upgrade in packaging and formula, so I'm here to check it out! They switched to a blue logo and outer packaging, which btw is partially made of bio-based plastic. This is produced from "renewable biomass sources that reduce carbon dioxide emissions"*. In working towards their goal of a SUNstainable world, they also removed coral-damaging ingredients such as Octinoxate and Microplastic beads from their formula.
It's my first time trying the Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk 60ml SPF 50+ PA++++ (P1,890) and I've heard good reviews about it. This was included in the recommended sunscreens for sensitive combination skin by Carol, but Liz preferred the gel variant made for sensitive skin. The spray version was also Liz's top pick from her recent beach trip.
This product is a smooth milk type sunscreen that provides the strongest UV protection* among the sunscreen variants made by Anessa. It uses their Autobooster Technology that makes the "UV protection veil stronger with water, sweat, heat, and humidity". This is improved so that your UV protection gets stronger even with small Air Moisture particles.
A fruity floral fragrance is immediately noticeable upon application. Aside from a reminder to shake well before using, there's no recommended directions for use so I follow my go-to amount for sunscreens which is 2 finger-lines worth.
Just look at that finish! I have been reaching for this more frequently than the others in my line-up even after my designated testing period. My base makeup also applies well on top. It feels like I already have primer on. I still note a very faint white cast but I honestly haven’t found a sunscreen that has zero visibility.
It's also very water resistant, with an "80-minute pool time" claim. This makes it suitable for use in outdoor activities, swimming, and daily wear. Despite this water resistance, this sunscreen can be easily washed with soap or a daily facial cleanser.
I can still tell that I have sunscreen on but in a good way. I get now why this is Japan’s No.1 sunscreen. I’m happy to report that I also get no breakouts from this even if I don’t double cleanse. This merits a repurchase in my book! I look forward to trying out their other variants, especially the ones that are safe for kids so we can use one sunscreen for the entire family. Even my husband likes this more than the other formulas I keep trying to coerce him into using. I admit that it is pricier than most but their sale promos at Lazada gives us consumers great deals and freebies so just watch out for one!
