Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation Review: Does it stay true to its long-wearing claim?

Lipglosses, lipsticks, and powders were my first makeup items from Avon. They have always impressed me with their vibrant colors and good staying power with an affordable price tag. The Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation (P499) is my most recent discovery from the brand and here's what happened when I tried it out.

A "24-hour just applied effect" is the Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation promise. This means it stays matte through "heat, humidity, and non-stop activity" while the high coverage formula stays comfortable with a lightweight feel on the skin. They also describe this as oil-free, non-greasy, dermatologist tested, and non-comedogenic.

I was able to try Light Beige and Nude out of the 5 shades available here in the Philippines. According to the Avon Shop website, the Light Beige is for medium skin tones while Nude is for warm skin tones. Light Beige suits me better because the Nude shade is surprisingly lighter than the Light Beige. I find that I can wear this alone without needing to use concealer for regular days though the extra coverage can be ideal for special occasions. If you have dry skin like mine, you can choose to skip powder. Though applying powder will definitely help set the foundation and reduce mask transfer.

Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation after five hours

The above photos show the Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation freshly applied and after five hours of wear. I stayed outside in the heat so I was impressed with the foundation’s performance even if I didn’t quite reach the 24-hour duration. I did notice some areas wearing off though very minimally but I don’t think this can reach all day wear without breaking down. It’s still pretty decent for a foundation I didn’t set with powder!

A bottle of this foundation gives you 30g of product, making it roughly P16.63/g. Like a lot of Avon makeup items, it's a good deal especially if you think about how it works. Shade range isn’t the best but if you can find a match then it can be an affordable foundation choice.
