Beauty Roundup: Nadine x BYS, FENTY’s limited edition highlighter, and juicy updates on Deciem
Welcome to the weekend, PV girls! It’s time for another beauty roundup, and boy, do we have some seriously chikka-worthy stuff for you all! The local beauty scene is hot with news of another exciting celebrity collab, while Sephora shopping carts are quickly being cleared for checkout. If you’re a fan of 80’s music, fashion and makeup, there’s a drugstore collection that’s sure to make you look and feel like a Jem and the Holograms member. We’ve also got a FENTY Beauty birthday treat care of Rihanna and the latest updates on the drama unfolding at Deciem. You're going to need to take a seat 'cause this one will be a doozy!
Another starry collab
While we were busy celebrating Valentine's Day and Galentine's Day, a new account called @lustrousph quietly popped up on Instagram. The profile simply reads, "Lustrous by Nadine Lustre x BYS. Coming this April 2018." Oh yes! The news has been spreading since makeup artist Archie Carrasco tweeted a sneak peek of a bronzer and highlighter bearing that actress's name, and fans have been waiting in bated breath for more details since. And it's definitely super exciting as this is the first time that the Australian makeup brand will be partnering with a Filipino celebrity!
Pre-orders are now open for the limited Lustrous Box Makeup Kit (P2,999) which promises to include the above-pictured palette, a lip and cheek tint, an eyebrow gel, a waterproof mascara, and an eyeshadow palette. They'll even include a 5-piece unicorn brush set and a signed letter from Nadine, all in a mirrored gift box. There are no other photos of the products as yet but the set sounds like a steal that we should all start saving up for!
Project: Fun Face
When a fashion designer ditches needle and thread for pans and pigments, we sit up and pay attention. Whether it's a haute couture house or a quirky, loud brand, makeup collaborations are a chance for designers to exercise their creative juices using a different medium. So our hopes are high for the partnership between affordable (and well-loved) brand elf and designer to the stars Christian Siriano! The Project Runway alum is lending his unique style to a 4-piece collection that screams 80’s funk and fashion: think neon, sparkles, and leotards!
The Bold Bouquet Eye Shadow Palette ($12) features 7 shadows with striking colors and glitters. There’s the Tinted Lip Oil in Polished Pink ($6) which is the perfect non-sticky gloss, while matte lovers can get the Liquid Matte Lipstick in Electric Fuchsia ($6) for that perfect season-appropriate pop of color. Everything fits perfectly in the bright pink makeup bag ($8) that doubles as a chic summer clutch.

Thirty, flirty, and thriving!
I know that’s a famous line from 13 Going on 30, but it couldn’t be more appropriate for the awesomeness that is Rihanna! The singer and FENTY Beauty genius turned 30 last February 20, and to celebrate this milestone, FENTY released the most epic birthday treat - a special Trophy Wife highlighter! The limited edition Killawatt Highlighter ($34) comes in a “Dirty Thirty” packaging, complete with ‘XXX’ embossed on the pan. The long-lasting and highly pigmented powder is nothing short of fierce and fabulous, just like Rihanna. Grab the limited edition version here.

Color me crazy!
Summer vibes are definitely hitting up the makeup world, and we are living for it! Urban Decay is not one to shy away from crazy releases and insane ideas, as evidenced by a new collection of mascaras that are sure to add color into our summer makeup routines. Set to launch on March 15, the Double Team Mascaras are designed to bring a twist to your lashes as well as your brows! With five brilliantly bright colors to choose from, you can now step up your makeup game with just a swipe. One end of the wand offers a cream finish (think normal mascara), while the other has a more metallic, foil-like finish. We’re honestly going crazy for the Silver-Gold and Turquoise shades! Would you try the colored lashes and brows look?

There’s a new baby in town
Not gonna lie - we’re all still a little shookt at how Kylie Jenner managed to keep her pregnancy private all those months, but the new momma hasn’t forgotten about her first baby. Kylie Cosmetics posted a teaser image on their Instagram Stories of a mystery product with a holographic logo on the front. With absolutely nothing else to go with but a picture and a “Surprise Tomorrow” caption, fans are now speculating that it may just be a new highlighter or eyeshadow palette. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! What do you think it is, PV girls?

Deciem's drama-rama
The beauty world has been raving about the super cheap yet super effective skincare formulations by The Ordinary but it seems that all is not well with its mother company, Deciem. Beauty netizens have been abuzz over the erratic behavior of Deciem founder and CEO Brandon Truaxe in his brand Instagram takeover: posting roadkill photos and rambling personal messages, dropping a brand partner without warning, passive-aggressive and even racist responses to fan comments, and even blocking people from accessing the account.
The latest update to this brouhaha is co-CEO Nicola Kilner exiting from the troubled company. Kilner has confirmed the news over text but it is not clear whether she resigned or was fired. CFO Stephen Kaplan is also rumored to have left after previously admitting that he was brought in because the company had grown so big, so fast. Brandon has since issued the following email statement:
Rougher seas are ahead for the incredibly successful 5-year-old brand, and we're hoping that things get sorted out. Do you think it's the end for Deciem? Will you continue to buy their products, or are you going to start looking for alternatives? Weigh in on our ongoing Facebook group poll!
