Editor's Picks: The top five best hand and body cleansers to try right now
How obsessed are you with washing your hands and body on a scale of one to ten? I would say I’m pretty up there. I’m not yet - I think - up to the point of being truly obsessive-compulsive about it, but I probably wash my hands at least 15 times a day. Aside from pandemic reasons, I have a very fluffy dog who is an instant dirt magnet. So washing for me is up there on my list of daily priorities.
I’ve accumulated quite a few favorite cleansers for this purpose, and I think you should try them out if you haven’t yet!
Oxecure pH5.5 Gentle Cleanser (P759 for 500 ml). This is a face and body cleanser that’s formulated specifically for sensitive skin. Think Cetaphil but with suds, and as a clear gel! It’s scentless and mild which makes it an excellent overall cleanser if you have dry, sensitive skin. It’s nice on the face as it doesn’t break me out, but do you know what makes this truly exceptional? It’s a fabulous clarifying shampoo! Yep, a shampoo. I’ve long been a fan of Celeteque’s Clarifying Shampoo but they stopped selling it for some reason (well, at least I can’t find it anymore), so I’m glad to find a new one that works even better IMHO.
Please do correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that this is also Curly Girl Method-friendly if you’re looking for that. This has been my shampoo for about a couple of months now, and I like that it doesn’t dry my hair out.
Bloom Antibacterial Liquid Soap with Moisturizer in Sweet Pea (P89 for 500 ml). If you wash your hands often enough, you’ll see your money rather literally go down the drain. I used to water down whatever hand wash is stationed in my kitchen sink, because I am a weirdly frugal person when it comes to this matter and want it to go the extra mile. But this one from Bloom is a steal! For 89 pesos you get half a liter of hand wash! I mean, that’s a crazy price. Even Watsons hand wash is P156 per half liter refill. The scents are basic but pleasant, and the formula doesn’t dry out my hands.
Safeguard Detox Foaming Body Wash in Pomegranate (P449 for 500 ml). I love the scent! LOVE IT. It’s fruity and juicy and always puts me in a good mood. It’s a body wash but I love it most as a hand wash since it already comes out as a thick foam. This is the other hand wash stationed on my kitchen sink. I like having two kinds there because I was my hands most often there, and like to switch.
Naive Peach Body Wash (P445 for 530 ml). This is the hand wash stationed in the bathroom. It comes in this beautiful bottle that fits right by the sink, and has super duper smooth pump so you can control exactly how much you need. A tiny amount of this goes a long way to create a rich, thick foam, which makes it an excellent body wash as well. The smell is soapy and nice, though I don’t think I can detect a lot of peach scent to it.
Dove Relaxing Ritual Body Wash with Lavender Oil and Rosemary Extract (P120 for 200 ml). I am a huge Kojie San soap fan in the shower but lately I’ve gotten bored of the smell; it’s been a while since I switched up my body cleanser/ exfoliator of choice. So I added this Dove body wash for the scent, and I love it! It smells like lavender, not too herby, not too sweet. It foams really well even with a luffa fiber sponge (get the ones specifically from PCX as they are soft!) and doesn’t dry my skin out. It allows me to skip lotion sometimes, which is a treat.
And that is that. Have you been using any new interesting cleansers?
