Say hello to the Ellana x Project Vanity Life-Proof Brow Pencil, your new brow BFF!
These are dark times, my friends, but I hope you can still allow me to share something that I’ve been working on for a year now! After the successful launch of the Ellana x Project Vanity Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel in 2018, we have a follow-up that I think you guys will enjoy using everyday. Theresa Carbonel-Buenaflor (the founder of Ellana) and I made this for busy ladies who can’t spend too much time on their makeup; it’s something that you can apply quickly and beautifully with little effort.
Meet the new Ellana x Project Vanity Life-Proof Brow Pencil (P599 at Ellana). This is a pencil that gets you sleek and sculpted brows fast, with a water-resistant formula and a waxy texture to hold brow hairs in place. This has a special hexagonal tip to allow you to get a good angle during application plus a soft spoolie that blends the color well for a soft finish.
Like the Eyebrow Gel, it comes in three shades: Light Brown, Red Brown, and Dark Brown. Light Brown is something I would describe as a universal color for Filipinas with brunette hair. It’s a bit warm but has enough depth to it that you won’t need to add another color to get a sculpted brow look. Light Brown has a translucent finish, so even if you layer it, you will never overdo it! It covers and sets brow hairs in place but allows a bit of skin to show through for that natural look. This is my fave shade in this collection - it’s perfect for everyday wear.
Red Brown is for those who have red or reddish brown hair. Dark Brown is for those who have jet black hair, or just generally prefer an ashy brown shade to their brows. I use it by itself too like Light Brown, but I also love to add this as a contour/contrast shade with Light Brown if I want a more dramatic look.
The formula of these pencils lean a bit waxy so that it sort of “licks” your brow hairs in the right direction; no need to add brow mascara! The way it colors though it very even and easy to blend even with the waxy texture. It always looks soft and never overdone, no matter how you like to shade your brows.
The formula is water-resistant so you can sweat on it and not have to worry about whether it will come off. Of course, it’s best not to touch or wipe it when you get sweaty! It’s also good for oily brows and will wear for up to 8 hours with minimal fading. If you’re looking for something you can swim in, go for the Life-Proof Brow Gel as this sets pretty much all day.
