New in February: Product launches this month
February is what I’d like to call the transitional season. It is that period after Christmas, New Year, and the Lunar New Year and right before summer starts. But if you think it’s a dull in-between wait, think again. At least on the beauty front, the slew of new product releases is giving us a whole lot to look forward to before the summer sun even starts to shine! Here’s a list of the exciting new items you can add to your beauty haul list.
My first encounter of a scent by Revlon was my mom’s aldehydic spritzes of Charlie. The company has been continually creating scents through the years, but they haven’t been visible in our local counters for the longest time. Luckily, Revlon Love Is On, their new fragrance, is here to change that. The lip-shaped bottle spells sensuality, while the fruity-citrus scent is a far cry from your momma’s perfume.
We’ve gone over face primers and eyelid primers, but now there’s yet another category of primer to introduce. Have you heard of eyelash primer? Benefit has just added They’re Real! Tinted Primer to their popular eye-enhancing line that already includes a mascara and a push-up eyeliner. This exciting new product can work alone or with mascara to fan out and lengthen lashes for a touch of additional drama. Now who doesn’t want that?
You can be a sculptor, too! Make Up For Ever’s Pro Sculpt Range is all about defining those curves and edges like a pro. There’s a creamy 4-pan palette that covers all the ways to contour the face, a 3-in-1 brow pen to add dimension to the brows, and a dual-ended lipstick that instantly lights up the lips without the need for gloss. Check out our event coverage and initial swatches here!
Valentine’s Day may be over, but it doesn’t mean you can’t keep it going. Rose scents are all the rage for the season, and The Body Shop has joined the fray with their own take on the traditional Valentine’s bouquet flower of choice. Their line is called British Rose, and it brings to mind the modern romantic gal, a charming mix of dainty and fresh.
Burt’s Bees has expanded its clary sage-infused Intense Hydration line by adding Intense Hydration Nourishing Facial Water to the mix. The clear liquid isn’t really a toner, but it’s something akin to the clear, moisturizing lotions or essences from Japan and Korea. In short, it’s an additional step to the skincare regimen that’s meant to help your moisturizer perform better.
On the luxe side, Jo Malone recently re-introduced their Red Roses Cologne. The seductive floral fragrance is described as being “inspired by a voluptuous blend of seven of the world’s most exquisite roses”. And you know what? It smells exactly like a rose garden or a thousand rose petals. As with other Jo Malone fragrances, it can be worn independently or layered with a complementing scent to create a custom blend.
Have you tried any of these February arrivals yet? Which one are you most excited about?
