It’s face mask & chill time: Here’s a review of Hadabisei’s new masks (Premium and Brightening)

I always have a stash of sheet masks available. There’s a couple in my travel kit because it’s the easiest skincare to bring along, and I always have a few in the fridge to help me cool off on hot days. Sometimes, a cold sheet mask and 15 minutes is just what I need to de-stress.

Korean masks are the most commonly used because of their easy availability and affordability, but if you want to make your mask & chill sesh feel more luxurious, consider trying Japanese sheet masks. Kracie Hadabisei has some of our favorites because of the more premium ingredients, and yet you can get masks for as low as P29 each if you buy in bulk.

The Hadabisei Rich 3D Premium Conditioning Mask in Firming (P180 per piece, P695 for a pack of 4) looks quite fancy in gold and white packaging. Each mask contains a generous 30mL of serum enriched with argan oil, jojoba oil, squalane oil, and co-enzyme 10. These deeply moisturizing ingredients were chosen to make skin feel firmer and more supple.

I found the fit of this mask unique as it has this fold in the middle for the 3D effect, and an extended flap to properly wrap around my jaw and chin. The top half didn’t fit me perfectly because there was space for my non-existent nose bridge, but I really appreciated the extended jaw area! It makes the sheet cling to my face better, and minimized my mess. Instead of the essence dripping to the floor, the lower flap adhered the mask to my chin and allowed the essence to spread to my neck and chest. I spread some of the excess to my shoulders, and this made it feel like a more complete mask session. I think all masks should have this feature because we do tend to neglect the jaw and neck areas, and this is much more economical than buying a separate mask just for the neck

I also love how this didn’t move too much while I was doing other activities, including snacking on some chips. The mouth cut-out is a little small though; you can cut a little bit on the sides to make them a bit more flexible.

After soaking for the recommended 15 minutes, my skin looked the same. I’m used to seeing a brightening effect in the masks I use, so I initially felt disappointed. But when I touched my face to massage in the remaining essence, I was shocked at how soft my skin was! I could stop touching my face (with clean hands), and marveled at how bouncy it felt.

To be fair, this mask claims to firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines but my 22-year-old skin is still pretty taut. As such, I didn’t notice any firming effect, but those with mature skin or beginning to get fine lines may want to consider these masks. Unlike Korean versions that are recommended for daily use, you can use these masks twice a month.

The Hadabisei 2D Moisturizing Face Mask in Deep Brightening (P150 per piece, P545 for a pack of 5) is a bit more affordable. It contains 20mL of serum formulated with vitamin C and collagen to brighten and improve skin elasticity. The sheet itself looks like a typical sheet mask.

I actually like the fit of this sheet mask better than the 3D version, but I wish it had that extended jawline feature that the 3D masks had. This mask seems slightly smaller, too, since it fits the flatter contours of my face better.  Imagine this sheet with a jaw extension, that would be perfect.

After 15 minutes of sheet masking, I removed the cover to find that my skin had a nice chok-chok (kira kira?) glow! It made my skin so soft like I experienced with the 3D mask, but I can’t vouch for any long-term brightening effects since I’ve only started using it. Still, this makes for a great pre-makeup mask when you have a special event or you just want to feel a little more extra.

My skin is actually a bit picky with sheet masks, and I’m almost sure to get a breakout from meh sheet masks. I like that these Hadabisei Sheet Masks don’t have any herbal or overpowering scents, which is great for those with sensitive noses, and they don’t give my skin a bad reaction.
