The male - yes, male - makeup gurus of the Internet

Instagram and YouTube are every makeup junkie’s best friend. These social networks give quick access to product launches and reviews, as well as beauty tips and tricks. There are many well-known female beauty Instagrammers (like all these K-beauty gurus that we follow) and YouTube vloggers but men are beginning to catch up on the online beauty craze, too! They have mad makeup skills and they prove that #MakeupIsGenderless. If you haven't seen any of these amazing male makeup gurus yet, we've listed the top five that you should definitely check out!

Jeffree Star

Jeffree is a fascinating character. After a music career that didn't particularly take off, he turned to makeup artistry and somewhere along the way became an Internet sensation with 1.18 million YouTube subscribers. His trash-talking, crass persona is appealing because of his honesty when it comes to reviewing products. His eponymous makeup line is making waves and we hope to try his Velour Liquid Lipstick one of these days!

Edward Avila

Edward (aka, Panda101) is a Filipino currently based in Korea. He reviews and demos a lot of the K-beauty products we're curious about! He shares hair, makeup and skincare tips, and his product reviews are very thorough and honest. We especially like his foundation and BB cream reviews, like this one of the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion!

Wayne Goss

If you want solid beauty and makeup advice, professional makeup artist Wayne Goss has the answer. His makeup techniques are incredible, and his videos are user-friendly. He first demonstrates how he does a look on himself before proceeding with modifications for people with different features. This way, you don't have to worry about how to adapt it to your needs. His tutorial on how to contour and highlight like a Kardashian is a must-watch!

PatrickStarrr

Patrick is a new discovery for me. He sounds so friendly and nice, and talks a lot about being body-positive and loving yourself. His makeup style is pretty glam so the tutorials are great for when you have a special event to attend or just want to amp your makeup game. Don't miss his fun prom makeup tutorial!

Paolo Ballesteros

Ever heard of the #MakeupTransformation? Local actor and TV host Paolo Ballesteros started this trend by literally transforming himself to different celebrities with just makeup. He has even caught the attention of various international news sites because of his transformations into every single member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, even "Momager" Kris Jenner. Of course, you can't really wear this type of makeup (unless you're going to a costume party) but it's just amazing what you can do with foundation, contour and some eyeliner!

Bretman Rock

Surely you've heard of Bretman Rock? This Fil-Am comedian has 5.2 million followers on Instagram and even recently visited the Philippines. Bretman is famous for his hilarious Instagram videos, which showcase a feisty persona and larger-than-life makeup looks. He also has a YouTube channel but it's not as frequently updated as IG, so we recommend following him there instead.

Editor's note on the title: To clarify, we are using the word "male" to mean only that the persons featured here were born with the physical attributes of a male. How they identify their gender is their prerogative.
