Shades of desire: A close look into the NARS Uninhibited Collection
What are you going to look like once you emerge from the pandemic? We’ve all been living in our minimalist looks for a year and a half now, but as more of us get vaccinated, the day to be bold once more with our makeup expression is coming soon. Frankly, I can’t wait for it to come. I will definitely enjoy being all out with my face!
To start us off on the right path, NARS recently came out with the Uninhibited Collection. The color story captures that hot flash of desire, sweaty and sexy and in the moment. Everything comes in stunning rose gold packaging with the raised NARS logo covering the surface. There are three product types in the collection, so let’s go through everything here!
First in my list is the NARS Uninhibited Eyeshadow Palette (P3,200). This features nine shades with different finishes that range from matte, satin, to metallic. The main theme is all about rose hues supported by reliable neutrals. All the pigmented shades work together so you can have a lot of variety with this one palette, since you have day to night options.
Plus, the deepest shade (Indiscretion) is particularly wonderful as an eyebrow powder while Let Go is perfect for nose contour. Awakened is also lovely as a face highlighter. Gotta love a palette that can do a lot more than eyes!
The NARS Uninhibited Blush Duo (P2,700) features two of NARS’s best-selling blush shades: Tempted, a shimmery beige with a subtle pink hue, and Deep Throat, a soft pink with a light gold sheen. At first I thought that Tempted was a highlighter or bronzer, but actually it’s this beautiful almost nude blush that delivers this super-fine glow to the cheeks. It just might be my newest favorite blush!
Deep Throat is a classic, and is most recommended for morena skin. Together they create a natural, healthy flush that stays on for at least 4-5 hours without a mask, and 3 hours with a mask. I highly recommend these for oily skin.
Finally, I’ve got the NARS Afterglow Lip Shine in Hot Spell (P1,500). There are two other shades, Daybreaker and Sunrush which lean more nude-pink. Hot Spell is a light berry with glassy shine for the finish. I like that it covers my lips evenly so I don’t have to wear a separate lipstick underneath. It’s also non-drying because of the Raspberry Seed Oil and Pomegranate Extract in the formula, so I can skip lip balm. This shade in particular works perfectly with the blush and eyeshadow palette.
Overall, as usual, NARS did not disappoint with the collection. Please check it out at the NARS Beauty Butler website, which is the official NARS Philippines online store. You can also get them at Rustans.com and in their stores nationwide.
