Review + Swatches: The Perfect Diary Rouge Intense Velvet Slim Lipsticks

I lurk around Shopee and IG a lot, and if you’re like me, you might have heard about Perfect Diary. There is a sea of products available on Shopee but this brand always stood out for me with their eye-catching graphics and packaging. I was given a chance to try a set of the Perfect Diary Rouge Intense Velvet Slim Lipsticks (P789 per tube/ P2,139 for the set), so here’s what I thought about them!

The set comes in a cute. white faux leather “bag.” When I opened it, I was amazed with the classy look of the lipsticks. One side is made of white faux leather, while the other side has a gold casing that definitely looks luxe and feels heavy. The lipsticks are slim and remind me of Hourglass Confession lipsticks.

Now, even though the presentation was great, I didn’t have high expectations of the actual product because I was previously gifted with another lip product from the brand and found it just okay. I’m happy to report that this is not the case for these lippies at all! They glide on very smoothly and have good opacity even in one swipe. They also have a pleasant vanilla scent.

They also feel moisturizing on the lips. However, since they are velvet matte lipsticks, they will still tend to emphasize the lip lines a bit. I use lip balm before applying them to make them less noticeable.

The set I got contains the shades L02 Rosy Lambskin, L03 Maple Chelsea, and L04 Vintage Kitten Heel. The shades look pretty similar at first glance but their undertones make them different from each other. L02 is a rose shade, L03 is a brown while L04 is a brick red. Since L02 is the lightest of the bunch, it’s a little less opaque than the other two.

Longevity is good for this formula. It stains quite well and will hold up well when drinking, but like most bullets, it will not survive a meal.

Overall, these Perfect Diary lipsticks greatly exceeded my expectations. The set is priced at P2,139 but you can also purchase them individually for P789. These are the most expensive lip products of the brand and they surely didn’t scrimp. These are honestly the best bullet lipsticks I’ve tried at this price point because it’s a great combination of presentation and performance. I only hope that Perfect Diary makes more variety in their shades.
