Review: Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick
Confession: During the height of the liquid lipsticks craze, I owned over 50 tubes of liquid lipsticks from more than 15 different brands. I was obsessed with the matte liquid lip, until tints and velvets later came into the picture. These days, I reserve wearing liquid lipsticks for special events. While they are generally more dependable and longer wearing, they also often have the most drying formulas.
The Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick promises long lasting color without the drawbacks. According to their website, these matte lippies “turn your pout into kissable velvet” with colors that “stay put all day with minimal transfer while maintaining a comfortable wear”. The formula is also infused with vitamin A and antioxidants to keep lips soft and healthy.
The lipsticks are priced at P850 for 8g of product, and housed in a sleek rectangular acrylic tube with a white cap and angled doe foot applicator. I was sent three of their bestselling shades to try: Laguna Beach (a bright strawberry pink), Charmed (a mauve pink that was created by influencer Manny MUA), and Mocha (a mauve nude with hints of red). Consistently, I found all three to be creamy and pigmented, achieving full opacity in just two swipes. While they’re not the most lightweight, the mousse formula feels comfortable and do not dry out my lips like most liquid lipsticks do.

However, the tackiness that makes the Ofra lipsticks comfortable to wear also causes them to transfer a lot and not be as long lasting as the name claims. I wouldn’t really call a lip formula long-wear if it’s almost completely gone after meals (that weren’t particularly oily BTW). Without eating, I still see signs of the color breaking apart, especially in the inner rim of my mouth from when I would drink water.
It’s still a good lipstick overall, but maybe not the most appropriately named. What I find works to help extend the wear time is to do another layer a few minutes after the first layer has dried a bit.
