Watsons helps you make time for #MeTime

Stress is a daily experience for most of us. The expectations and work load at school, work, and even at home can get so out of hand. Even just getting around from place to place causes so much anxiety because of traffic and limited transportation options!

How do you deal with it? I personally find that doing little things for myself keeps me from going bonkers from all the pressure. Sure, I love caring for my family, accomplishing work goals, and making my writing deadlines at Project Vanity (I love you, Den) but I still crave a little time alone to myself regularly, doing something I like just for me, you know?

I recently got to enjoy doing just that at Watsons Make Time for #MeTime at SM Aura Premier. Going around the self-care booths gave me a chance to stop and pamper myself in the middle of the work week. Talks by celebrities Apples Aberin and Shamcey Supsup reminded me that it’s totally okay for moms like me to take care of myself and not feel guilty about it. Online influencers Raiza Contawi and Vern and Verniece Enciso echoed the same sentiment, encouraging attendees to try new things and do what they love.

Taking the time to care for my skin is my daily must-have #MeTime so I first gravitated to the skin care booth. I took an Olay Skin Advisor Test, which said that my skin age is 27 (I’m 33, so yay me!) but that I had to work on the laugh lines around my mouth. It’s never too early to start caring for your skin, and it’s actually the best time to start. We saw this in our college intern, Khae, who tried Celeteque’s Anti-Aging Line and saw results even for her 21-year-old skin. Watsons also has their very own Watsons Collagen Line with promising products like Den’s favorite Instant Finishing Cream.

Proof that proper skin care works: I'm actually 33!

Want to spruce up your everyday routine? Even your daily shower can feel indulgent when you use the right products! Raiza talked about a new hair care line, Palmolive Expertique, which targets specific hair issues with salon-quality formulations. This is a great option for anyone who doesn’t have the time to go to the parlor. It’s also possible to enjoy spa treatments like body scrubs and hair spas right at home with so many affordable options from Watsons.

Aside from the obvious skin care and makeup application, looking polished from top to toe also definitely kicks the blues away! There are so many hair styling products to choose from at Watsons, as well as budget-friendly nail care picks for DIY manis and pedis. I’m particularly intrigued by the acetone-free nail polish remover from Bobbie Nails which they say is biodegradable.

If you know me, you know I love me my sheet masks! It’s probably my favorite way to just chill and indulge myself for 10 to 15 minutes when things get a little too crazy. Purederm makes it extra fun with quirky options like cute animal designs and healing foot masks for dry and tired feet.

Watsons also had a wellness booth where I filled out a quick questionnaire on my lifestyle. My assessment showed that I could probably benefit from taking Vitamin D, which makes absorption of calcium and other nutrients from food much easier for my body. Thankfully, their affordable Watsons Generics line carries this, along with other supplements and medication.

With a full line of beauty and health options, Watsons allows me to make time for #MeTime. Plus, it’s totally possible to get your self care on for less! If you’re an SM Advantage Card holder and purchase at least P500 worth of products from the #MeTime collection, you can even get a raffle entry for a chance to win an iPhone X!

Do you make sure to set time for #MeTime? What are your best self-care product discoveries from Watsons?
