Your Makeup Bag MVP: My Take on Careline's Newest Shades

Product photography by Perkin Gotohio

I’m all about a good multiuse product—the kind that offers endless possibilities with just one tube. There are days when I simply don’t have the luxury of digging through my stash or hunting down the right brushes. It’s just me, my fingers, and a trusty multiuse stick taking on the world. That’s why I gravitate toward products that are flexible, fuss-free, and come in a creamy, easy-to-blend formula. Naturally, I was thrilled to try the newest shades of the Careline Multi Stick (P220 / 5g)! It promises a lightweight, pore-friendly formula that’s rich in pigment and color, all while being super portable and convenient. What’s not to love?

The original shades—Contour, Rose, Flush, Beam, and Strobe—were already versatile enough to work as blush, contour, highlighter, or lipstick. But with the addition of nine new shades, the possibilities have expanded even further! The new lineup brings in options that double as color correctors, bronzers, and even eyeshadows. The latest shades include Color-adapt, Salmon, Strawberry, Pumpkin, Mauve, Terracotta, Chestnut, Caramel, and Taupe.

Now Careline has made a handy guide available for how you can use each shade when doing your makeup. But don’t let this limit you to the different possibilities a multiuse product can provide because when it comes to makeup there are no hard rules to follow.

The formula of the Careline Multi Stick is wonderfully creamy and blends effortlessly with just your fingers. It doesn’t dry down too quickly, giving you ample time to play around and blend it to your preferred finish. To see just how foolproof and beginner-friendly it really is, I decided to skip the brushes entirely—I applied the product directly to my face in swiping motions and blended everything with my fingers. For larger areas of the face, the size of the stick makes it easy to swipe on color exactly where you need it. However, for more precise applications, like contouring the nose, the stick can feel a bit wide, so you might need to adjust your technique or use a smaller tool for those finer lines.

For this look, I used Pumpkin as a color corrector for my undereye area, Chestnut as my bronzer, Taupe for contour, Mauve as my blush, Terracotta for eyeshadow, and finished it off with Color Adapt on my lips. It’s amazing how versatile these sticks are—they make it so easy to create a cohesive look with just a few swipes and blends.

One practical note: each Multi Stick comes with a cap to keep the product from drying out, so make sure to use it every time you store the stick. If you’re tossing it into your purse, be sure to really press the cap down because it doesn’t always snap into place right away.

This product has shaped up to be my first favorite of 2025, it’s convenient, it’s rich, it has great color payoff and with the amount of product you get for the price makes it amazing value. This is definitely going into my car makeup routine and travel kit! I recommend these for makeup beginners, as the stick format allows you to draw directly on your face while the creamy, blendable formula ensures a smooth, patch-free finish. It’s the perfect product for experimenting and learning without the stress!
