Four Eyelash Curlers Under P250, Compared

Product photography by Perkin Gotohio

I didn’t think there was a good Filipino brand eyelash curler until I’ve tried the Ever Bilena Eyelash Lift Curler in one of my TikTok videos. It looked so weird - it was the first time I’ve seen a lash curler with a comb attachment - that I just had to try it. I’m glad I did, because for me it’s still the best local eyelash curler out there. And at P165, it’s such a steal! Naturally I had to check out the rest of Ever Bilena’s curlers and it turns out, they’ve got quite a few. Let’s see how they compare to each other!

In general they are priced roughly the same and are widely available in most drugstores and department stores, but each has it’s own strengths and weaknesses. It really comes down to what kind of curl you’re looking for and your lid shape.

First on the list is the Careline Eyelash Curler (P125). This one has an interesting spring mechanism so it automatically opens and closes; there’s no need to grip it outwards to release the mouth. Because of the spring mechanism, it opens wider than normal lash curlers, which means that you can get it closer to the roots of your lashes and work from there. It delivers a steep curl, around 80 degrees or so. Lashes can look longer and pointing straight up.

I love how this looks and works. This fits my wide lids especially well, too, so if you have big eyes this is a good option. The thing that I feel like it can do better is the lash pad though. It’s too bouncy and soft so I’m not getting a crisper curl. I might replace the pad with the one from Ever Bilena Bounce as it might work better.

The Ever Bilena Bounce Eyelash Curler (P165) has the same spring mechanism, a narrower mouth, and a different handle. What it has going for it is a better pad, and since it’s stiffer. it gives a more pronounced curl! It gives beautiful, clean curl at a 70-80 degree angle. This fits my eyes less better than the Careline so I recommend it for smaller.

Hot tip: grasp the hooked end of the finger holes to get the best curl. If you just stick your fingers into the two holes it’s not going to give as good a press for some reason.

The Spotlight Eyelash Curler (P245) looks and feels very similar to the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. It’s best for smaller eyes; it’s not quite a good fit for me. I find that it delivers a softer curl (about 60 degrees) so if you already have naturally curled lashes and just want something to enhance, this is for you.

I like the spring curler from EB and Careline, but for me, the Ever Bilena Eyelash Lift Curler (P165) still delivers the best curl because it’s the one that will keep my lashes curled most of the day. I love the splayed out placement of the lashes which positions them perfectly for mascara, and the curl angle is great at around 70-80 degrees. I find it a bit too small for my eyes and the placement of the lashes inside has a learning curve, but once you curl it right it’s so pretty! This requires patience as you practice but once you get it, you’ll see what I mean.

Hope this comparison helps!
