I Tried the New vitanature+ Supplements: Here’s What I Thought of Them

I take my health very seriously and treat my immune system like a well-oiled machine and with the pandemic still fresh on our minds I’m sure we can all agree that great health is a need and not a want. And while I’ve always taken supplements specifically for my immune system and getting my daily dose of vitamins and minerals, I haven’t really looked into supplements that double as beauty supplements. Could I really get both health and beauty in one tablet? vitanature+ would like to say yes!
vitanature+ brings the healing of Thai herbs to the Philippines and I got to try two of their unique vitamin blends, Biotin Zinc Horsetail and Curcumin Extract. Each bottle comes with 30 vitamins which comes out to one month’s supply, giving you a perfect amount of time to see for yourself the results of taking these supplements. I took both supplements for four weeks and here’s what I thought.
Biotin Zinc Horsetail Blend
Like with all vitamins it’s important to look at the ingredients. The Biotin Zinc Horsetail blend is packed with Biotin, L-Methionine, Selenium, and Zinc Amino Acid Chelate. This mix of ingredients works to thicken and strengthen hair, strengthen nails against breakage, and boost the skin barrier. This supplement also contains Horsetail Extract which I learned comes from a plant called horsetail and does not actually come from a horse’s tail. So, to all our animal lovers here at Project Vanity, no horses were harmed in the making of this supplement. Horsetail extract is a Thai herbal remedy used to help regulate the hair growth cycle and improve hair elasticity. It works by improving blood circulation keeping hair follicles healthy and stimulating cell turnover to induce the growth of more individual strands.
Healthy hair grows at a rate of half an inch each month which means that any changes you see will happen close to the root. Healthy hair will have follicles close together with multiple hairs growing from each follicle. After taking the supplements for four weeks I didn’t notice any obvious changes in my hair growth or hair shedding but it’s possible my hair just needs more time for any changes to become obvious especially because of how slow hair can grow.
Although changes were not obvious in my hair, I was surprised to see an obvious change in my nails! Nails grow at a rate of 3mm per month and on my nails you can see a clear demarcation between my old nails and the new nail growth. The new nail growth is shinier and smoother and I’m excited to grow out my nails for my next manicure!
Overall, I liked the Biotin Zinc blend as it did improve the quality of my nails and may improve the quality of my hair over time. As a note though, it comes with more than enough of your daily dose of zinc so I recommend not taking this with other zinc supplements as too much zinc can give you headaches and nausea.
Curcumin Blend
The Curcumin blend has ingredients great for lowering inflammation in the gut and in the body. It has Turmeric extract, Ginger extract, and MCT Oil; together these ingredients work to improve bowel movement, treat acid reflux, and reduce bloating. Now as an acidic girlie I have trouble with acid reflux which causes excessive burping and uncomfortable bloating. My acid reflux is triggered when I drink soda and when I get overly full, causing me to reach for several antacids. In the four weeks I’ve been taking the Curcumin blend I have not experienced any acid reflux episodes. I have not changed my diet in any significant way except for the addition of these supplements. It’s been a relief not to be in discomfort after a full day and I do recommend trying the Curcumin blend if you have stomach issues like me.
The body thrives on what we give it, and supplements can go with a healthy diet by filling in the gaps and giving the body the building blocks it needs. vitanature+ aims to fill in these gaps and improve the body both inside and out. Having tested these two supplements I can recommend them for targeting specific concerns but I also recommend consulting a doctor before taking supplements to target any other issues you may be worried about!
