Get mega cute eyes with K-Palette

Times are long past when girls literally used tape to create double eyelids. These days, we have flexible and almost invisible glues to create bigger eyes and that deep crease! K-Palette Philippines recently launched one of the brand's best-selling products in Japan: the Real Lasting Mega Cute Double Eyelid Tape and Glue (both P695 at Beauty Bar).

What's the difference between the Orange (tape type) and Pink (glue type)? The Orange tape is applied all over the lid to create a deeper-looking lid. It has some shimmer to it and can even be used as an eyeshadow primer as long as you're wearing it. The tape can even be worn by double-lidded girls who just want more definition on their eyes.

The Pink glue is for creating a more enhanced crease. It's meant to be applied right where the crease meets the lids, in one thin line. You get a white plastic wand to hold your skin in place while the glue is drying. Aside from faking that crease, the Pink glue can also be used as false lash glue.

Orange tape vs Pink glue

Both types are completely transparent when dry. They are also waterproof - for real! They didn't budge from my hand for almost two days until I peeled them off! They also truly glued the lids together when I tried them.

K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eye Pencil

You've read the raves I'm sure. The K-Palette 1-Day Tatto Real Lasting Eye Pencil (P795) is the reformulated version of the old pencils and comes in Super Black and Deep Brown. These are heavily pigmented, creamy, and very easy to work with once you get the hang of the flat tip. They stay on the whole day - well, as long as you have primer or powder on top of your lids. If you don't, the eyeliner is golden for about 5-6 hours, which is a good amount of time anyway.

I find that this migrates to my upper lids and smudges on the outer corner of the eyes if I use it on bare skin for more than five hours. I wore this to a shoot where I was out for a solid twelve hours (7am to 7pm). By noon, the eyeliner was starting to smudge. By 3pm, I have two queer lines on my crease, as the pigment has transferred. Well, it was a pretty hectic and stressful day as I was the one directing the shoot. Most of my makeup has gone to the dogs come 3pm.

I know I sound cranky, because by all intents and purposes the K-Palette pencil liners are awesome. It's just that, they pale in comparison to the liquid version.

K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer

Whoever formulates and makes K-Palette cosmetics should get a medal. Seriously. All their products are amazing! Well the ones I've tried so far that is. Remember their Real Lasting Eyeliner? The Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow pen? These are staples for me!

It's no surprise that ended up loving their under-eye makeup as well. The K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer (P895) is a heavy coverage, heavy duty concealer that can zap the darkest eye bags. It comes in three variants, three shades with different skincare and color-correcting purposes. You can also use them for skin discoloration and blemishes!

Here are my thoughts on this gem of a concealer.

What I love about the product

  • Coverage is opaque yet very smooth - perfect for really dark eye bags. It looks like skin when blended properly; no cakiness here.
  • It is water and oil-resistant. You can cry with this and it won't budge. It's also great for girls with oily under-eyes.

Review and tutorial: the K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow

I know I've sung praises of several eyebrow products before, but I think that the K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow Pen (P1,050 at Beauty Bar) deserves a whole new symphony. It's a fantastic eyebrow shader because it can draw realistic-looking hair using the liquid pen and give depth to brows with the powdered sponge tip.

This is THE product to use if you have big gaps in your eyebrows that can't be properly filled with powder, wax, or pencil products. Using the liquid pen (such as what you would find in an eyeliner), you can easily draw short hairs on the gaps - with no one the wiser!

Anyway, here's a quick review and tutorial on how to use this K-Palette eyebrow pen!

What I love about the product

  • You can draw perfect eyebrows with a lot more control compared to pencils, waxes, and liquid brow mascaras.
  • As with all K-Palette pens, this pretty much stays put until you take it off.
  • The pen end is always ready to use - no need to shake. I've had this for over a month now and it's never dry.

Rave review: K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner

The best eyeliner I've ever tried is the K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner (P895 at Beauty Bar). There. I said it! It's a lot to claim, I know, but I am totally awed by this Japenese liquid eyeliner. I've used sooo many eyeliners in the past but this is the only one that combines convenience, lasting power, opacity, and ease of application in one small tube.

Lasting power. The "1-day tattoo" eyeliner lasts all day and doesn't smudge even if you're sweaty or oily. Nonetheless, it washes off with water and soap without leaving any nasty smudges. It's not 100% waterproof, meaning if you splash your eyes and rub it will disappear. But who does that anyway?

You don't need a makeup remover to take this off. Not like I'd suggest leaving off the makeup remover, but it's nice to know if this is the only eye makeup you're wearing.

Perfect pointed synthetic-fiber brush. It's no wonder that the Japanese are crazy about this! This received a lot of rave reviews and awards in magazines over there. It's so easy to use that I'm sure that eyeliner newbies can get a perfect line with no fuss.
