Careline Mascara Comparison: Aye Aye Lashes!, Lash Boost Mascara, & Skinny Mascara

Product photography by Perkin Gotohio

I’ve sworn left and right about how awesome the Careline Aye Aye Lashes! Mascara (P 325/6.5 g) is, so I was interested to see how the brand’s other mascaras perform. Aye Aye Lashes! is so good because it basically thickens and lengthens my lashes while keeping them curled and smudge-free all day. And, even though it’s highly water-resistant, it’s not quite as hard to remove as other similar products. A little bit of cleansing oil is enough to break it apart without too much rubbing. This is why it’s my go-to daily mascara!

Now, Careline sent over their Lash Boost Mascara (P195) and Skinny Mascara (P185) to test. I had high hopes for these two so I really put them on the grind. Let’s see how they perform!

The Lash Boost Mascara, like the AAL, is also long-wearing and doesn’t smudge. It thickens the lashes and delivers a super black finish in just one coat - no need to go back for seconds honestly. It has a curved, sort of twisted brush. I get what it’s trying to do but I find that the brush + the thick formula together makes it difficult to control how much product gets deposited on the lashes per stroke, thus causing my lashes to easily clump. I feel like I’d get better results if I use a lash comb after but then that takes extra time.

It also doesn’t hold the curl of my lashes up unlike the AAL, which looks pretty much like falsies all day on me. I think this would work best for those who already have naturally curled lashed but are looking for more volume.

I like the Careline Skinny Mascara way more! It has a super narrow brush with short bristles. This is designed for lengthening so you can definitely use it on your upper lashes, but it shines best to make those lower lashes really pop out. As someone with near invisible, extremely sparse lower lashes, this is a godsend. Like the other two mascaras, you can expect this one not to smudge or smear (crucial in the lower lash area!).

My top tip for you is to put a piece of paper or a card on our lower lids so you can really layer this product. This is expecially useful if you can’t really easily see your lower lashes and thus make more of a mess.

And that’s it! I hope you find this review useful!
