Why this smart vanity mirror is the perfect gadget gift to yourself
Are you a big fan of beauty videos? Do you follow along or listen to it while doing your own face? I recently got hooked when I became obsessed with learning how to apply eyeshadow! While PV has a lot of great how-to articles, I feel the need to watch videos so I can see exactly how things are done. I play the video on my phone and plug my earphones in so I can hear the audio better. The setup is a bit of a hassle, especially since I don’t have a vanity table, but my life has been changed by Zhia Beauty’s Smart Vanity Mirror!
Real talk: I wouldn’t call LED light mirrors a “must-have” beauty item, but they can make a world of difference in how you apply your makeup. With proper lighting, it’s easier to create a balanced makeup look and choose complementary colors. With the Smart Vanity Mirror, I no longer struggle with guessing if I’ve applied enough blush or need more concealer. I can also check if my foundation has oxidized or doesn’t blend well with my skin tone. These are seemingly small details but they can make or break a look! I also appreciate that I now have decent lighting when natural light isn’t an option.
The Zhia Beauty Smart Vanity Mirror offers two lighting options: a white ring light that surrounds the mirror, and a warm daylight that emanates from the back of the mirror. When used together, the two are supposed to mimic natural light, so you have a more balanced color rather than being too cool or too warm. Let me tell you: it sure works great for selfies!
What makes this mirror different from all the others is the base, which contains a touchpad controlled Bluetooth speaker. At first, I didn’t think I would care about this feature but it has since become my favorite thing. It easily connects to my phone and lets me play music while getting ready, and it helps to put me in a good mood. And those beauty videos? I just prop my phone against the mirror stand, and it makes both listening and watching tutorials so much easier. The mirror also has a button that lets you play or pause the audio without needing to handle the source device.
Let’s also talk about how cute this looks! We were sent the Blush Pink shade but it’s also available in Cream. I appreciate the minimalist design, and how the build is simple but feels sturdy. It doesn’t take up much space, and you can even tilt the mirror at a 90 degree angle to use it as a table lamp.
By the way, the mirror has an AC adapter so you never have to worry about needing to buy batteries.
I feel a little silly raving over a mirror but I have been using it nonstop since I brought it home from the PVHQ the other day. It’s a splurge at P4,999 (available in Lazada) but if you don’t have good lighting in your room and enjoy listening to music or podcasts or videos while doing your makeup, this is a lovely addition to your routine.
